Personally, summer is my favourite time of the year. How can you go wrong with sipping delicious adult beverages while sitting lakeside and working on that killer tan??? See, doesn't really get much better. OH WAIT, I just found another opportunity...Champagne and Sorbet becoming an addition to your summer rituals. YES Please!
When to do a Sorbet Champagne Bar
Depending how 'extra' you consider yourself you could indulge in this heavenly creation on a Tuesday night with your girlfriends or wait until you throw a backyard party. However you decide to indulge, I hope you enjoy every sip (you know I will!)
I'm not one to judge, so if you want to buy your sorbet from the grocery store, all the power to you. It will most likely taste just as yummy and save yourself some time and effort. Plus, with all the champagne you'll be adding you might forget you didn't make it yourself! The sorbet really is the foundation of flavour for this drink. Depending what flavour you are in the mode for, chose accordingly. If you do feel inspired to create your own sorbet (which is fairly easy, because even I can make this) one of my favourite flavours is mojito because it's so simple!

The Champagne (aka The Best Part)
Ha, yes the freaking BEST PART, well I mean sorbet is pretty amazing itself but adding the champagne, well that just makes it THE BEST.. The champagne you chose will most likely depend on your palette. Personally, I enjoy all sorts of Champagne and really don't see how you can go wrong (don't worry all you champagne connoisseurs, I do know that you can go very wrong with cheap Champagnes). You can buy a champagne specifically for this occasion or use whatever you have on hand. It really depends on the flavour of sorbet you are pairing with. If you are pairing with a bold and rich deep berry sorbet I would recommend a lighter and crisp Champagne such as a Moet and Chandon Imperial Champagne. Don't be afraid to use a rose champagne or explore sparkling wines. I mean adding Champagne to immense amounts of sugar is sure to be a great combination regardless.
The Endless Possibilities...
Ok, I won't keep you on the edge of your seats anymore...or I mean maybe you have cracked a bottle of wine while reading this (can we please be best friends if you did?) I'm going to share some of my favourite sorbet and champagne pairings with you!
- Lemon and Blueberry with a Rose champagne
- Pomegranate-Strawberry with a white sparkling wine
- Peach and Lime with a sweet champagne
Just a few tips before I let you go to to set up your own Champagne and Sorbet bar! When it comes to setting up your champagne bar, make sure to use a table cloth you don't mind getting sticky or can easily dispose of due to spills or just your drunken friends. I would recommend to have at least three different sorbet flavours and two champagnes. Therefore guests really do get to indulge in the whole 'bar' feel. Try to use oversized glassware to avoid as much spillage as possible (because that might be an issue depending on your friend group). Don't forget to add a few toppings so your guests can add their personal touch to their creation!
- Pomegranate seeds
- Shredded Coconut
That just about covers all the components you need to create your first Champagne and Sorbet Bar of 2017! I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I did writing it and please, have a drink for me!
